Daniel has recently qualified as a Solicitor with HMG, having joined us in July 2017 as a paralegal and acquiring skills and knowledge over a number of areas of law before undertaking his training contract with us. He loves the variety of his vocation: “Different clients, different instructions and different results all mean that my day can be incredibly varied, which is a big draw for me.”
He has enjoyed building particular specialisms in Private Client, Court of Protection, and Elderly and Vulnerable Clients, learning a huge amount from our knowledgeable teams. “There are few other places where I can gain exposure to the type of work that a firm like this does on a daily basis.”
Daniel has adopted the approach central to HMG’s ethos, “listening attentively to what clients need, processing their instructions into workable legal solutions and actioning them together.” He has keenly developed “the ability to gain an insight into what the client wants, and to tailor explanations of technical areas of law to their needs.”
As a result, clients have described him as “friendly, helpful and approachable”, commenting that “Daniel was very helpful in answering queries and keeping us informed. Obviously continuing HMG’s fine tradition of work with private clients”.
The best lesson Daniel has learned so far is “Ask for help if you need it. Someone else may well have the answer you need and, if not, then sharing that burden is beneficial in and of itself.”
Daniel is in the process of attaining professional memberships with CoPPA, The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, and Solicitors for the Elderly.
When he’s not busy with all of this he loves ice skating, football, cross country, and sword fighting.
